Your levels of one protein might predict your success rate

Findings from a new study suggest that your level of SERPINE-1 might help predict whether undergoing laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy is likely to help you lose weight and keep it off.  I know this is just one study and that it’s not saying it’s a definite predictor, but I can’t help but feel excited that we might get there one day. It would help us make better decisions.

The article is an eye-opener, and the fact that 100 participants took part in this study, lends credibility to the findings. I have learnt a lot from the discussion, but now I am wondering if we can have any control over the SERPINE-1 levels in the body?

Interesting read for sure. It would offer hope to some people. I too wonder if we really have any control over that level in our body. It sure would give a lot of people hope.
