Winter Exercising

What’s everyone’s favorite thing to do for exercise in the winter? I really love going for walks when it’s warm out, but that’s challenging when there’s snow or ice on the ground. I do have a treadmill at home, but that can get pretty boring, and I find myself getting unmotivated walking on the treadmill several times a week.

I don’t mind walking on a treadmill and mostly get through it by focusing on the music I’m listening too.  I don’t like to do the same exercises every day, though, so I’m hoping to switch it up by trying a new capoeira class that’s just starting at my gym.

I’m still recovering from surgery and haven’t thought that far ahead.  I’m glad you brought it up, Jenny, because I hate the cold and will need to figure something out.  I have an exercise bike at home.  I guess that’s a start.

My surgery is scheduled for September.  This winter my plan is to take Zumba and yoga classes at my local YMCA since it’s so affordable.  I feel awkward about exercising in front of other people. I just don’t want to look silly, especially with my larger than average body.  I’m going to push myself to get over it and go.
