i am  9 days post op from sleeve surgery, i have been following all my instructions, getting in all my protein and fluids, my surgeon gave me the ok to start walking 30 minutes a day which i have been doing and i am 2 pounds heavier then my surgical weight. I know everyone is different, but its already a little discouraging reading about people loosing 10lbs the first week and not having any results

That as to be frustrating.  Really, it could be anything from excess water retention due to your body’s reaction to surgery, to not eating enough calories a day and putting your body into starvation mode, to consuming too many calories a day (some protein shakes are loaded with calories).  I’d keep a detailed food journal and reassess at your next follow-up appointment.

My husband’s weight started coming off pretty quickly, but he was incredibly swollen for about the first week or so and he had problems eliminating waste on and off and off after surgery.  Both those things can make you weigh more than you would otherwise.

I’m sorry. That has to be frustrating and discouraging. Like others said, it could be as simple as water retention. Have you been able to talk to your surgeon about this?
