What to Eat Post Wisdom Teeth Surgery?

3 on July 19, 2018

I avoided having my wisdom teeth pulled as a teen, but they have been causing me some problems lately, and my dentist thinks it’s best for me to have them pulled.  My top two are impacted and rooted in my sinus cavity.

A lot of my friends who have had their wisdom teeth pulled say that they ate a lot of soft food after their surgery, like ice cream and milkshakes.  But, as we all know, these aren’t good for us.

Do you have any suggestions for healthy foods I can eat after my surgery that won’t hurt my healing gums?  I figure yogurt, applesauce, and Jell-o are good.  What else should I plan on stocking up on before my surgery?

It’s been a long time since I had it done, but you could probably handle bananas, protein drinks, and noodle soup.  I hope your surgery goes well!

Eggs are soft, you can cook them several different ways, and they’re a great source of protein so they’ll fill you up and keep you satiated for a longer period of time.

Thank you both for the suggestions!  I love eggs, so I’ll definitely get some of those.  Bananas are great snacks.  I don’t love protein shakes, but there are some brands I haven’t tried, so I’ll try a few different brands I haven’t had before to see if they’re any better than the ones I’ve tried.
