What did you mostly focus on?

There is usually a proper balance in terms of risk and benefits, and that is why a gastric sleeve procedure is a viable option. The usual choice for would-be surgery patients is to focus on the pros rather than the cons of weight-loss surgery. It helps to look at both sides of the spectrum and boosts psychological preparedness. Your thoughts?

I agree that you should focus on the positive. I also think that you need to know exactly what you are getting into. You need to hear the pros and cons. If you don’t know the negative things you might have a harder time dealing with them.

I weighed both sides extensively before deciding to get a lap-band instead of something more permanent like a sleeve or bypass. However, lap-bands were still in favor at that time. I think it is important to consider the risks before jumping into a huge lifestyle change.

I’m mostly focusing on my family and how my surgery might affect them. I won’t be able to pick my children up for a few weeks afterwards. I’m just planning ahead for things like that.
