Music has a strong connection to basketball, and it has evolved into a crucial component of our game. NBA 2K has already established itself as a global platform for music discovery, and that trend will continue in NBA 2K22 MT. According to Alfie Brody, NBA 2K22 New Features President of Marketing, “This year, we’ve created a dynamic soundtrack that includes early access to previously unreleased tracks, new artists, and opportunities for fans to become a part of the experience and earn a place in gaming history.”
We wanted the NBA 2K MT soundtrack to be a benchmark in the video game industry, so we designed it that way. This year, we have the opportunity to further develop the experience by creating opportunities for incredible new music to be premiered and shared with the audience. This is a significant step forward in our efforts to bring basketball culture and the game together through music, not only by collaborating with well-known artists, but also by providing our players with the opportunity to participate in the game and demonstrate their abilities, explained David Kelley, Senior 2K Partnerships and Licensing Manager.
NBA 2K22 will be released on September 10th for the PlayStation 5, the PlayStation 4, the Xbox Series X|S, and the Xbox One consoles. Users will be able to listen to all of the official songs from these artists, as well as the Producer Series, by that time. A tool that will allow users to create their own themes from the foundations of each piece of the soundtrack in order to create their own album covers will be made available.
