There are tour groups that get together in the United States for the purpose of having weight-loss surgery overseas. They provide extra services like arranging the proper travel documents, acquiring lodging, and securing travel arrangements. Your sister might try that.

@BeyondObesity, I had no idea that was a thing. It sounds like a good idea though. It’s got to be easier if you’re with a group from your own country who know both languages.
@Jasmine, I’ve thought about this too, and would do it in a heartbeat if necessary. Check the licensing agencies in the other country to make sure there aren’t any outstanding complaints against the overseas clinic.
