Taking surgery for the loose skin

4 on November 3, 2019

Nobody knows with my clothes on, but how I wish I can do away with this much loose skin! Too bad that the insurance didn’t want to cover cosmetic-related procedures in my last consultation. Is there really no way we can do it for free? For those who have taken the surgery, how much did it cost you, and how did you like it?

You are looking at a evaluation that will stun u. I lost 229 lbs and had 2 consults. One was state aid, Medicare, and it is only for the Pannisculectomy (belly button down, and hip to hip) but I had to have a struggle to heal an open wound… Denied

The plastics consult self pay in 2015, cost was $27600 for Mommy makeover(Nashville- drjjwendt) it’s about 22 lbs of skin.

My same process in Mexico, would cost me $9700. There are amazing foreign concierge medical tourism options.

No way, at all to do for free tho, this is 8-10hours of surgery and 4-7 trained medical ppl in the room.

I have also looked into this but found it to be too expensive. I know in some European countries it is covered if it is for medical reasons (like if the excess skin causes actual health problems), but for most of us it is cosmetic surgery. I don’t think it is worth it. I just embrace it.

Cosmetic surgery is costly, and insurance companies often refuse to pay, citing that this procedure isn’t necessary. Is the cost going to come down in future if we have more specialized surgeons so-to-speak?

No, IMO, it will go up and has steadily, about 600% from 2014-800% now
