Susceptibility to Coronavirus

Should anyone who has recently undergone bariatric surgery be afraid of the virus? A small fluctuation in the immune system could occur due to a modification of the diet, but a surgery patient is safe from the virus. However, and since this is a highly contagious disease, it is critical to follow the recommendations of health authorities.

My guess is that we’re all more vulnerable right after surgery, but I don’t think weight-loss surgery opens you up to viral diseases more than other surgeries.

I am very worried about it! I fear catching something while I am in the waiting room or while I am being operated on. That might be an unfounded fear, though. I have checked their records and neither the hospital not the surgeon have had high infection rates.

I think if you just had surgery there might be more of a chance. Only because your immune system might be lacking (from having surgery). I think we all just need to follow the guidelines.
