Surgery is Thurs.

5 on May 25, 2020

Elective surgeries have started again where I am and I’m scheduled for Thursday.  I’m not afraid of catching the coronavirus, but I’m nervous because VSG surgery is such a huge lifestyle change.  I hope I’m up to it.  I’m also nervous because we’re supposed to be social distancing and since I live alone, I’m not sure how to handle that.  Do I ask the family member who is taking me to surgery to stay with me or can I stay alone once I’m home? I had everything planned out before the coronavirus pandemic hit.  It threw a wrench into my plans.

I would go ahead and have someone lined up to stay with you or you to stay with them just in case you need it. I stayed by myself, but you aren’t going to know how you will feel until afterward so it’s better to be prepared.

As in tomorrow? I wish you well. I bet you’ll come out of there ready to get the weight off and experience a more active life. I hope you will let us know how it goes!

Yep, it’s tomorrow. I have to be there at 7 in the morning. Thanks for the well wishes and kind thoughts. I will definitely give an update as soon as I can.

You will definitely need someone to stay with you or you to stay somewhere. I would feel more comfortable in my own home.

Good luck! You’re going to feel so much better in the long run.

How did it go, JustLoseIt? What was the whole experience like for you, and was any family there? Hope your recovery time goes smoothly. You will appreciate the changes.
