I’m 9 months post-op and have lost around 90 lbs…but I haven’t lost any weight for the past eight weeks!! I’m so frustrated. I know I could be making better food choices at times but I honestly feel like I’m doing the best I can 🙁 Has anyone else experienced a plateau at a similar time? How did you get through it?

It can be frustrating to have to go through what you just described. From the many stories I have come across, the plateau stage is something anyone can experience. You are making progress even though you can’t see it now. Can you be able to identify some people who have undergone surgery? They can offer the necessary support and encouragement.

Thank you for your reply. I actually don’t know anyone who has gone through the surgery and that’s why I’m looking for some support online. It’s good to remember that I’m still making progress even if I can’t see it at the moment. I’ll keep trucking along, just feeling a bit demotivated

Hand in there! Just accept that plateaus happen. Start tracking your diet and exercise daily and see if you can pinpoint the problem. Lots of things can affect our weight. Are you getting enough sleep? If not, that could be a factor.

It is definitely easier in the beginning to lose weight, but when I hit a plateau I start keeping a food journal and tracking my calories. It will usually turn out that I am eating more than I thought.
