Skin-removal surgery and avoidance

3 on July 10, 2019

Do you think most people will need skin-removal surgery after weight-loss surgery?  My weight-loss surgery has been successful so far,  but I still have a long way to go before removing any excess skin.   I’m just thinking ahead here.  Are there ways to tighten up my skin as I go along?  I wonder if I can avoid skin-removal surgery altogether?

Is your loose skin bothering you at the moment, BeyondObesity?  If your issue is about uncomfortable chaffing, maybe donning a rash guard or some compression wear would help.

I bet a lot of it comes down to how much weight you lose and where on your body the skin is stretched out the most.

You know, I didn’t think about the loose skin until I read your post. I’m trying not to worry about them now since losing weight is still the main goal. Online articles mention exercises, building muscles in place of the lost fat.

Then again, I’m not sure if my wallet can afford another surgery after the sleeve!
