Saving money after surgery

6 on June 7, 2020

I feel driven to cut back my budget because of COVID-19 and how it’s affecting the economy. Do you guys have any insight for the best place to buy protein bars, water, supplements, produce, and things of that nature?

Aldi is the place to go for eggs and produce on the cheap. I just had VSG surgery and opted to get my broth, protein shakes, and other foods from the clinic for the first month. It keeps me out of the store and away from the public while I am recovering and my immune system is weak.

I have to use vitamin patches and the most affordable ones I found were online and it changes from month to month so shop around. When you find a sale, buy in bulk.

Great question! I do find a lot of quality healthy foods at Aldi stores. The prices are great too. I also buy a lot on Amazon. I look for the sales.

You know a friend of mine mentioned that shopping online has become easy post-COVID, and now I believe them. Most supermarket chains are allowing their customers to shop online at their comfort and convenience. Aldi has good bargains on most supplies, and most shoppers already joined this bandwagon!

There are some decent deals at Asian markets. When I’m near my local Korean store, I look for deals on produce, tea, tofu, and eggs

Are you near a Trader Joe’s? A good number of things there are reasonably priced and post-surgery friendly. I would also vote for bargain hunting at Asian markets.
