Sagging skin

Like many after surgery, I now have loose skin. Not the prettiest sight, but I will live with it. I know that cosmetic surgery is an option to remove it, but the procedure is pricey. Have you gone through it?

I haven’t had surgery yet, but I’ve seen the procedure done in television and it looks pretty painful at first and leaves lots of scars. I can see how it’s beneficial though if you have a lot of skin hanging.

My doctor advised me that the skin will start to tighten up on its own after awhile. I’ve seen some minor improvements but still lots of sag unfortunately! If I don’t start to see some changes in the near future, I’m going to reconsider cosmetic surgery.

Nope! I added weights to my workout and I have seen an improvement so far. I know they say when you’re older it’s harder to tighten the skin. So far, so good though.

I don’t want to spend so much on tightening my skin. Also, I’ve never shown much skin anyway, so I don’t really have that “if only” feeling about not doing this.

I had the same problem. I would also add that skin does not necessarily sag with AGE. The skin acts as an envelope for the structures below https://www.liondrugs.com/skincare/prednisolone-online/ . While elastin decreases with age, and collagen decreases being laid down at about age 30-35, the worst skin sagging I have ever seen was in an 18 year old who just delivered a baby and had a washboard-like abdomen.
