I have gained 10 kg I am so desperate and losing hope I am crying right now while I’m writing this ot was my last chance to lose weight. is my sleeve stretched so quickly or what does cause this fast weight gain ? I believe my portions aren’t large so is my sleeve permanently got stretched and botched?

Are you tracking your calorie intake? I mean really tracking by weighing/measuring your food and recording everything you eat even if it’s just a peppermint?  I ask because I’ve made the mistake before of thinking I was recording my intake correctly, but in reality I was being sloppy about it and missing several hundred calories here and there.  It all adds up!  We humans typically have a habit of overestimating calories burned during exercise and underestimating how many calories we consume.

From Jasmine99

I often read this kind of reminder. Eating correctly is vital to help with weight loss after the surgery.  We can probably sense how much is too much later, but it’s better to log everything to be safe.

I understand that weight gain also has many related factors other than food, so maybe you want to consider those as well, Mary. I hope things are going better for you!

marynabil89, I’m sorry to hear about your situation. Have you tried what Jasmine99 said? You can also check back with your surgeon to see if something goes wrong with your sleeve. There’s a discussion in another topic about people gaining weight around two years after their surgery, so I wonder if you’re experiencing something similar.

Whatever it is, please don’t lose hope and always love yourself. I believe you can get through this!

It’s possible that you might need a revision, but only a surgeon would know that.  When was the last time you had a follow-up appointment?  It’s best to see the doc instead of guessing.  You have options so don’t give up yet.  I’m rooting for you!
