Postponing the Surgery Until After the Holidays?

I’m supposed to have surgery between Thanksgiving and Christmas, but I am thinking about postponing it. I really love the holidays, and yes, part of that is because of all the good food. I know the surgery is important, but I’m afraid I won’t enjoy the holidays if I am sitting and drinking a protein shake while everyone around me eats real food.

I understand your hesitation. I had surgery in the summertime, so I had a while to prepare myself for the holidays and what I could and couldn’t eat. I don’t think it would hurt to postpone your surgery as long as it doesn’t negatively affect your health. Just know that you will have to face the holidays post-surgery at some point, but if time is what you need to do that, then you should take it.

I think it wouldn’t hurt to postpone it, I understand being on protein shakes during the holidays isn’t great. Once you’ve had the surgery, next year you should be able to participate fine.

I don’t blame you I put mine off until the second week of January I wanted to be able to eat everything at a Holiday meal one last time before not being able to eat much at all.
