I’ve Reached a Plateau

I’ve reached a plateau in my weight-loss journey, and I still need to lose more weight. It is frustrating because I’m following my nutritionist’s advice and exercising regularly. How do you all stay motivated when you reach a plateau? How long do plateaus typically last for you?

I’ve been there and it’s so frustrating!  I first plateaued four months in and all I could think to do was to focus on getting more protein and making it a priority each night to get eight hours of sleep.  I also completely changed up my exercise routine. I was basically just going for walks and lifting light weights before, so I decided to try circuit training instead and it made a big difference.  I hope you find something that works for you, Sasha!

I know it gets hard. I didn’t have any special trick to keep myself motivated; I just kept on telling myself that I would get through it.

Are you tracking your calories? Is there a chance to decrease your intake a little without making you too weak? Try to add more physical activity as well. If you’re not up for heavy workouts, walking more is a good option.
