Haven’t smoked in 3 weeks

My surgeon is strict about smoking and surgery, so I haven’t had a cigarette in three  weeks.  Neither has my husband since he decided to support me by quitting too.  Unfortunately, I’ve gained more weight since I quit, but I’m hoping to turn things around.  What do you guys do when you get the munchies?  What is your go-to method for dealing with frustration?  I need healthier habits.  I hate it when I snap at the kids because my coping skills aren’t good.

Three weeks is a great accomplishment!!

Some new coping skills….exercise, talking about your feelings, writing in a journal, reading a book, playing with your pet if you have one, doing something fun with your kids, or cleaning the house all come to mind. I think many of us use food to stuff our feelings down, so while it might be the most difficult, writing or talking about your feelings will really help.
