Gaining Weight

I have gained a few pounds. I am sure it’s because I haven’t been exercising much this winter, but it’s still disheartening. How do I keep myself from spiraling down again? It is so easy for depression to set in when I’ve gained weight.

A significant percentage of patients can regain weight after surgery, and this can be depressing. How about having small frequent meals, eating more vegetables, fiber and drinking adequate fluids?

I had this problem too last year. I went back to the basics. Track every calorie you consume every day. Sometimes you don’t realize all the things you put in your mouth. A big thing for me was condiments, those calories add up fast!

I’ve learned that diet is 80%, exercise is 20%.

Start setting new goals today and reward yourself when you reach them. It’s easy to get off track, but you will succeed in the end! You got this!
