What were some of the easiest foods you started incorporating back into your diet when the doctor said it was time to start? I hate being nauseated and hope to avoid that feeling as much as possible.
I had surgery about a year ago, but it truly feels like another lifetime. I think I started with steamed vegetables as my first foray into whole foods.
I started with baked chicken without the skin and plain rice. Not very adventurous, but I was able to keep it down. Bananas are an easy fruit to eat.
Rice, plain mashed potatoes and plain yogurt were three things I started with. Each week you can add things to see how your stomach and body handles the new foods.
I had soft scrambled eggs and little servings of hummus with steamed veggies. Not a big fan of this, but small servings of cottage cheese also worked.
Thanks for the tips you guys. I’m not there yet, but I wanted to be prepared for when the time comes. I’m dreaming of eating solid food again.
