Doing the things you didn’t think you could

My friends invited me to go see a waterfall with them, and that involves some hiking. I’m thinking to give it a try as I’m feeling confident these days!

Does your surgery allow you to try things you didn’t even think of trying before?

That sounds like fun; I hope you go blackdust.  I’ll be rooting for you to make it to the top!  I haven’t had my surgery yet, but I’ve slowly started on the diet.  I’m looking forward to seeing what  I can do once some of the weight comes off.

Thank you very much, Quill. I’ve been doing exercises to shake the weight away, so hiking sounds like a checkpoint to see whether I’m doing it the right way. I didn’t think about motivating myself with these things specifically before, so maybe you can give it a try.

Great question!  I’ve always avoided rides at the fair because I figured I was too big to get on anything.  Even though it’s been six months since my surgery and my incisions have obviously healed, I didn’t ride a roller coaster or anything that intense, but I got on some of the other rides and had a great time.  I also stayed away from the food areas so I wouldn’t be tempted to scarf down a funnel cake or three.

Congratulations @blackdust and @BeyondObesity on losing weight and for being brave enough to try new adventures.  I love these types of questions because the answers are so inspiring.

My answer might be not that spectacular as hiking or riding a roller coaster because I tried eating vegetables now. I normally eat meat or bread, but always avoided vegetables as it doesn’t look appetizing. It doesn’t taste bad as I thought before, and I’m liking a few of them now that I’ve tasted them.
