This is an interesting article from The Lancet about COVID-19 and bariatric surgery. It actually points out how delays in surgery can harm obese patients. I wouldn’t encourage anyone to rush into surgery, but I appreciate that bariatric surgery is seen as more than just an elective operation. https://www.thelancet.com/journals/landia/article/PIIS2213-8587(20)30157-1/fulltext

That is awesome! This is the first I’ve seen where it isn’t an elective surgery. I know people that are having it now. They were put off for a bit but have had it since.

I like that it’s being taken seriously. So many people in my life compare it to plastic surgery and it’s not the same at all.

Thank you, LAT. I also agree with what others said here, that this piece explains well how holding off surgery during the pandemic could get complicated and risky for the patient. I like how it makes clear different surgery types.
