If you’ve have the surgery already, and dr has cleared you for solids, did you go back to drinking coffee. No coffee after surgery is why I’m having second thoughts of getting surgery. I know, it’s dumb. But heavy coffee drinkers out there let me know you’re experience.

The general guideline is to hold off on any coffee for at least a full month after surgery — maybe as long as three months after. I limit myself now to just one small cup a day.

I used to drink mug after mug. It was a bummer saying no to coffee post-op. After a couple of months I sipped coffee again and loved tasting it, but now I rarely have it. I want to be careful about having anything potentially irritating.

I’m about 1 month pre-op and my Dr recommended me weening myself now off of coffee. It’s not going so well. It truly is an addiction. However mine has said no coffee for year after as it can be a diuretic.

I’ve got to admit, it can be hard stopping after a small cup per day, especially when you feel like you could use the caffeine.

Saying no to espresso and strong black cups of joe was a sad struggle! I tell myself that I’m way better off with my new post-surgery choices… since it’s true.
