Buying in bulk

I know that sounds funny for a weight loss group. I find myself buying things in bulk though, like yogurt. I don’t buy individual containers anymore because I don’t eat the whole thing. I buy a big container and put a small amount in a smaller container to take to work. Anyone else?

Buying in bulk is the way to go, especially when we have the discipline to consume the recommended portions. It also becomes cheaper in the long run. How often do you shop? I assume that it takes a while for you to go shopping again?

The stuff I like getting at Costco: eggs, apples, blueberries, chicken salad, Greek yogurt, protein bars, and string cheese. It’s a nice feeling to stock up!

Do you guys have a category of foodstuff that you only buy in bulk? I believe that perishables are not on that list? I don’t mind buying a lot of these at a go, but I have to be sure that most of it won’t go to waste.

I think it could work with a big family, but I don’t enjoy buying food in bulk and eating it that way. It just doesn’t taste as fresh to me.

I don’t buy a lot in bulk. I buy nuts, yogurt, granola bars, string cheese and some cereal. I don’t have a problem with it not being fresh. I usually only buy these items once a month.
